The Tanzania Energy Awards

is a prestigious event recognizing excellence and innovation in the country's energy sector. It will take place on Thursday, May 22, 2025, from 19:00 to 23:30 at The Super Dome in Masaki, Dar es Salaam. The ceremony will honor outstanding achievements in various energy-related categories, promoting sustainable energy development in Tanzania. The Guest of Honor will be Prof. Kitila Mkumbo, Minister of State in the President’s Office for Planning and Investment.

The Ministry of Education, Science, and Technology (MoEST), through the Tanzania Institute of Education (TIE), organizes the Mwalimu Nyerere National Award for Creative Writing, which was officially launched on 12th September 2022 at the CRDB Auditorium in Dar es Salaam by the Minister of Education, Science, and Technology, Hon. Prof. Adolf Mkenda (MP).

The award was named Mwalimu Nyerere National Award for Creative Writing to honour the Father of the Nation, Mwalimu Nyerere, who was also a poet and translator. Moreover, he was a leader who promoted free thought and significantly contributed to the growth of Kiswahili as a national and international language. Consequently, the award ceremony is held annually on April 13, the day when Mwalimu Nyerere was born.
